Our Green Gift Guide is a great place to find ideas for unique, economical, and eco-friendly gifts from our reuse warehouse! One of the main purposes of gift giving is to express appreciation and thought for one another and a unique vintage or modern secondhand find that reminds you of the recipient is a great way to do that.
A thoughtful gift doesn’t have to be new and it also doesn’t have to be expensive. Since we strive to price all of our materials at below market prices, you can also save money by choosing to gift a pre-loved item from our reuse warehouse.
Shopping secondhand for the holidays is a green choice as well. To paraphrase a saying attributed to Carl Elefante, the former president of the American Institute of Architects who said, “The greenest building is one that is already built,” the greenest gift is one that’s already made! The materials at our reuse warehouse don’t require additional natural resources or production and your purchase still supports the local economy.
Making a charitable contribution in someone’s name instead of purchasing a physical item is another green gift. Supporting our reuse nonprofit with a financial donation also helps us continue to divert usable materials from the landfill and redistribute them to the community.
Gift Card
A Community Forklift gift card is a great present for the salvagers, artists, upcyclers, DIYers, dumpster-divers, and treasure-hunters in your life! Buy Community Forklift gift cards at the front desk in our reuse warehouse or purchase a gift card online and we’ll mail it. Please note: gift cards can only be used in person in our reuse warehouse and cannot be used for Community Forklift Marketplace or eBay purchases.
Gift Donation
Donate funds to our reuse nonprofit in someone’s name this holiday season! Contribute $25 or more and we’ll send your gift recipient a note informing them of your generous donation. A gift donation is a great present for those who support reuse and sustainability but maybe live far away from our reuse warehouse or don’t need home supplies or construction materials. Also, thanks to a group of generous Forklift Fans, all gifts in the month of December will be matched one-to-one up to $15,000! You can donate in the reuse warehouse at our front desk or online in our Community Forklift Marketplace.
Holiday Décor
Thanks to our generous material donors, we have some fantastic surplus holiday décor! Visit the reuse warehouse to check out the new-in-box and gently used holiday decorations we have available, including ornaments, lights, gifts, and more. Our reuse warehouse is open 12-5pm Monday-Friday and 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday!
