What a great project! A Forklift Fan refinished a desk for a client who picked up a $5 chair from our reuse warehouse to go along with it. Not only is the blue and gold leaf finish beautiful, but also you’d never guess that the desk and chair weren’t originally a matched set! Reuse for the win!
Check out this live edge coffee table created using a Treincarnation lumber slab from Community Forklift! The undulating edges of the black locust wood are gorgeous and they contrast so nicely with the angular legs. If you have a narrow or oddly shaped space, creating a custom table using salvaged wood is a great way to get a perfect fit!
Check out this serving tray created by a Forklift Fan! The wood grain is beautiful and it’s a stroke of genius to use upcycled drawer pulls from Community Forklift for handles. Thanks for incorporating salvage into your work and keeping usable materials out of the landfill!
Tango the dog is back, this time supervising an awesome salvaged frame project! “We picked up the framed print from the warehouse for $28, and it was the perfect size to frame our previously bare bathroom mirror. A little paint and voila! So much cheaper and greener than buying a new mirror for our bathroom reno!” Thanks for sharing your creative project and supporting reuse!
A Community Forklift fan used some salvaged office cabinets from our reuse warehouse to DIY a Herman-Miller-inspired Mid Century wall unit. Here’s what they had to say: “I am genetically unable to spend $2k on a piece of furniture so I hacked this together with salvage cabinets and a sawzall-modified closet organizer. Made my own shelves, trimmed all the Ikea brackets to a smaller width/hit with a flap wheel/painted.” It looks awesome! Thanks for finding a new home for those cabinets!
Just in time for cold weather: a cozy fireplace renovation with a salvaged mantel from Community Forklift! The mantel’s new owner says, “I came all the way from Towson, MD to find it. Our house is from the 1940s but didn’t have a real mantle, so I was on the hunt for something that would be original to the time period. I am obsessed with it! It’s perfect.” Thanks for supporting reuse!
