Happy Feet: salvaged furniture with bases that grab you
The next time you’re in the Community Forklift reuse warehouse, watch your feet — the feet on the furniture, that is! Metal, carved wood, claws, paws, casters, toes, and scrolls lend a bit of whimsy and playfulness to the feet of many of the wardrobes, dressers, and tables. Here are a few favorites, but you can visit the reuse warehouse any day between 12 and 5 pm to go on your own feet-finding scavenger hunt!
The beauty of the shiny square casters on this coffee table is matched by the gorgeous woodgrain on the surface of the oval top. More photos are in the Community Forklift Marketplace listing.
The foot caps on the legs of this vintage leather-topped drum table remind me of shells. Check out the curved drawers, too, on the Community Forklift Marketplace.
Get a load of the toes on this cabinet! I love the large and exaggerated size of these feet. They even have toenails! Visit the Community Forklift Marketplace for more info. This one also has a matching sideboard.
There are many beautiful curves in the design of this solid wood dresser by the John Widdicomb Company, but the ones on the feet are my favorite. Very whimsical! More photos are in the listing on the Community Forklift Marketplace.
